S.S. Benedict XVI (3D Ship)

Since there's no 3D forum here, I decided to make like my good buddy BolianAdmiral and start a thread here in the FanFilm section.

I, too, have been blessed to have found an "enterprising" (ahem...) individual willing to model my ship (you may have seen the set replica I built for it, and the 2D images I made) in 3D!! XFozzboute is extremely talented at this sort of thing, and has been working on different parts of the ship. So far, the nacelles have been the focus of the project:

Updates to follow!! And to XFozz, thanks SOOO much (again!!) for doing this!!

Thanks!! It's awesome that we're both getting our ships modelled in glorious 3D.

I don't have much to show but I've got the round cutouts in the back of the engine started. The mesh errors were kept to a mininum and I was able to fix them with little problem.

Oh, I'm not making this model!! I would have no idea how to use any 3D modeling program; XFozzboute is the one doing the awesome model work.

Thanks for the link; that screensaver is awesome!!

XFozz, the cutouts look great - can't wait to see the rest!! Just out of curiosity, that's the port nacelle, right? It just occured to me...

So far it's neither port or staboard. I ant to spend more time looking at your connection to the main hull and where the engine rotates. It looks a little flimsy to me at the moment.

orion24:I use 3D Studio max 6 to do this.

I've got some more done on the end cap.

What I really need to know before I continue is. What is the thing on the bottom of the warp engine?
